Monte Carlo Simulation

Monte Carlo Radiation Transport Simulation

The Monte Carlo method is the most accurate technique for modeling how radiation interacts with matter — including the human body.

MCLAB develops and applies Monte Carlo radiation transport codes (Geant4, TOPAS, PHITS, MCNP) to problems in medical physics and radiation protection. Our work includes the development of computational human phantoms, variance-reduction and GPU-acceleration techniques that bring simulation times from hours to seconds, and validation of physics models against experimental data.
